Hidden Horsham - Miscellenaneous
Chimneys
 |
This is a chimney stack that can be seen over the bookmakers G C Bloxham in the Carfax. A fantastic amount of design and work has gone into this only for it to be lost amongst the rooftops. It is a three by two stack as you can see more clearly on the other photograph

Skylight
This looks a lot like a greenhouse on a rooftop but it is more likely that it is a skylight. It is in a state of disrepair and probably supplies water to the occupants below. This view is from the new car park in Black Horse way, it cannot be seen from the ground but it would be about here
On the far side you can make out a cranking arrangement by which the windows can be opened suggesting that there is a high ceilinged room beneath

Nat West
This is just above the Horsham Club in the carfax. Although the pidgeon deterents are in place they are barely visible and do not detract from the detailed workmanship.
It was built in 1897 and was designed in the Queen Anne style by the architect Frederick Wheeler FRIBA who had offices in Horsham
